Reconnect your Garage Door with your garage door opener?

Reconnect your Garage Door to you operator

Working in the service department at D & D Garage Doors I receive a lot of questions on a daily basis. One of the most common questions I am asked is, “How do I re-engage the operator to the garage door when it’s disconnected?” Reconnect your garage doorWe all know how to disconnect, that’s the easy part… Simply pull the red handle attached to the red rope, straight down.

Now the million-dollar question, “How do I reconnect my garage door with the garage door opener if I have previously disconnected?

To reconnect, simply pull the red cord on an angle. You will hear a “click”. At that point push the button for the operator and when the trolley meets with the carriage the 2 will be connected. It’s that simple. Now the next time your lights go out you don’t have to be afraid of releasing the door from the operator in fear of not being able to get reconnected.

If you need further assistance please call us, we can walk you through it!

What do you need to do when it keeps coming disengaged without anyone pulling the red rope?? Ours keeps popping out, leaving us to lift the heavy door for reentry. It reengages simply, but doesn’t stay in for more than a few days. Do I need to replace the lever?
